Gender & Livestock FarmingLivestock farming is integral to rural farming economy. Farmers with large or small landholding do manage to have some kind of livestock. While women from the families do share a lot of responsibility related to farming and livestock caring, all major decision-making remain with the men in the family who stay connected to the market.
Even as Nani (maternal grandmother), the protagonist of the stories in the flip book, conjures up various situations related to livestock caring, income generation and financial literacy, she provokes the community women to question gender discrimination in all its myriad forms. |
