For us, facilitation is about creating the conditions for people to bring their experiences, questions and ways of seeing into the room — and to listen to and learn from one another. We don’t begin with all the answers, or with a predetermined destination. We begin with questions, curiosity and the possibility of discovering together. We invite critical and creative thinking: questioning what we take for granted, noticing how power shapes our lives and relationships, and imagining what might be possible. We might work with theatre, stories, images, conversation, reflection or play. The method may change; what matters is what it opens up. Our workshops bring together people who might not otherwise find themselves in the same learning space — senior NGO leaders, college professors, activists, practitioners, artists, students, young people, farmers, workers, and sometimes a 15-year-old learning outside the formal school system. Different experiences, generations and ways of knowing meet in the room. Alongside workshops, we work with organisations on learning needs, learning processes and resources, mentoring and accompaniment, and documenting learning journeys.
